Ian Holloway insisted QPR youngster Ebere Eze needs to improve his work off the ball after the draw at Fulham.
Holloway’s side fought back superbly from two down to earn a point in a dramatic west London derby at Craven Cottage, where Pawel Wszolek scored a late equaliser for them.
They struggled early on and Rangers boss Holloway felt that was largely down to Fulham midfielders Kevin McDonald and Stefan Johansen being given far too much time on the ball.
“What my boys have got to do is go week in, week out, knowing when they go to work without the ball,” Holloway told West London Sport.
“Ebere’s so good with it at times that it never mattered when he was in the Under-23s whether he could win it back or not, because everybody was talking about that wonderful bit of skill.
“But he’s got to realise ‘Hang on, I’ve got to get close to him now. I can’t give McDonald that time. I can’t give Johansen that time to hit the ball out there to Ryan Sessegnon who is screaming down on my poor full-back’.
“We were getting dragged everywhere. It’s not rock science. You get close to your man.”
