Have QPR lost out to Derby County in battle to sign youngster?

Winger Aaron Eyoma has signed for Derby County after leaving Arsenal.

The 20-year-old has been snapped up by the Rams after impressing during a trial with them towards the end of last season.

Before that he was on trial at QPR, who looked at him in an Under-23 match in January.

Football.London say QPR missed out on Eyoma, with Derby beating him to the signing.

But West London Sport, which initially revealed he was on trial at Loftus Road, say Rangers opted not to sign him because they already had several wingers on their books, and he therefore continued looking for another club.

Either way, Eyoma is looking forward to the next chapter of his career.

“I came here knowing that Derby was a big Championship club that was renowned for played attractive football, similar to what I had been used to at Arsenal. That was a big appeal for me,” he told Derby’s website.

“I was there for eight years and made a lot friends during that time with the players and coaches. It was a time for a fresh start, though, and I am delighted to be here.

“There were a few different Championship and League 1 clubs that had expressed an interest in taking me, but when I came here and took a look around the facilities, I thought they were great. I knew this was an opportunity that I couldn’t miss.”
