QPR have completed the signing of Danish forward Marco Ramkilde.
West London Sport reported last week that Rangers were going to sign Ramkilde, who has been on trial with the Championship club.
The club have now confirmed the signing of the 21-year-old, who has been given an 18-month contract at Loftus Road.
“On the first day of my trial at QPR, it felt like the perfect match,” he told the club website.
“I know this is a club with a lot of history and it is a great opportunity for me. I am looking forward to showing what I can do.”
Here are four things about QPR’s new signing…
One for the future
Ramkilde is clearly a signing for the future and Rangers will hope he can progress in the same way the likes of Ebere Eze and Ilias Chair have done after also being picked up by the club. He will initially play for the Under-23s.
He told Rangers’ website: “I want to develop – I know that I am not quite ready yet – but with the help of the staff here hopefully I can progress and help the club if I get my chance.”
International experience
Ramkilde previously played for his country at various age levels. Some years ago he was regarded as one of Denmark’s best prospects.
Injury woes
He was a free agent, having left Danish club AaB last year and subsequently recovered from a long-term ankle injury. That injury has clearly curtailed his progress and he will now be looking to get his career back on track.
His strengths
Ramkilde is tall and considers his main strengths to be pace, finishing ability and an aerial presence.
Ramkilde said: “I am quite quick when you consider my height and I like to think that I am good tactically and work well under pressure.
“I’m a good finisher with my feet and head and hopefully I can score some goals for QPR.”
