QPR and Millwall are reportedly keen on Bristol Rovers defender Alfie Kilgour.
Bristol Live say the 21-year-old is being tracked by Premier League clubs Southampton and Bournemouth and that the R’s and Lions have also been monitoring him.
Kilgour has impressed since stepping up to the Rovers first team and is clearly a player of real potential.
Whether he would get first-team football at a top-flight club is debatable – and that potentially paves the way for Championship sides like Rangers and Millwall.
The problem for those clubs, however, is that the coronavirus crisis has created huge uncertainty and potential financial hardship.
QPR chief executive Lee Hoos recently told Sky Sports News: “Obviously we still have the broadcasting money coming in and central payments from the league coming in.
“There’s a little bit of money coming in via retail from people who are shopping online.
“But other than that there is no money coming in from a matchday perspective.
“We’ll normally turn over in the course of the season between five and five-and-a-half million pounds (in matchday revenue).
“This problem will be worse the further down you go in the leagues.
“The Championship will be badly hit. League One and Two will be hit even more.”
