QPR reject approaches for striker Armstrong

QPR have rejected approaches for Sinclair Armstrong.

QPR have rejected approaches for Sinclair Armstrong.

West London Sport reports that several clubs have shown an interest in signing the young striker on loan but that R’s boss Gareth Ainsworth is keen for him to stay at Loftus Road.

Armstrong, 20, has yet to score for the first team but has looked exciting when he has featured.

And it seems that he is in Ainsworth’s plans for the coming season, which will begin at Watford.

West London Sport also say Ainsworth is looking to tie up a deal to sign Chris Forino from his former club Wycombe – but suggest that reports QPR are set to complete the signing of Lewis Wing are wide of the mark.

Both Forino and Wing played under Ainsworth for the Chairboys and Wing is currently a free agent, with his contract having expired this summer.

Rumours elsewhere suggested that Wing’s move to QPR was all but done, but West London Sport say the club are expected to bring in a midfielder and could sign him but have other targets too.

Meanwhile, Forino could be heading to west London to join his old boss, having impressed since breaking into the Wycombe side.

Ainsworth is short of options at centre-back because Rob Dickie and Leon Balogun have both left, while Jake Clarke-Salter continues to be troubled by injuries.
