Kazenga LuaLua looks set to return to Brighton from QPR in January.
Rangers have the option of extending the winger’s loan spell for the remainder of the season, but he has failed to impress since returning to Loftus Road.
LuaLua made just two league starts for the west London side after joining on loan from the Seagulls last January and has managed the same number of starts since being brought back by Ian Holloway.
The player suffered a bereavement in August when his father died and he has not played for Holloway’s side for two months.
R’s boss Holloway told West London Sport: “We borrowed him until January, he lost his father and I think he lost his confidence.
“I don’t feel he was doing as well as some of my lads who I’ve brought here. Unless he rips it up and shows me – and he’s trying to – I think the loss of confidence and loss of his father has really hit him.
“So I’ve got some decisions to make on that and at the minute he hasn’t changed my mind.
“If he wants to then great. He’ll have another opportunity – he still trains with us and works with us.”
