While speculation continues over the futures of several of Ian Holloway’s players, the future of the QPR manager himself isn’t certain.
Holloway’s current contract expires at the end of next season and he has admitted in recent months that his players aren’t the only ones who are battling for their future.
Tweets by co-chairman Tony Fernandes made for interesting reading following the 4-0 defeat at Hull at the weekend. Did they indicate that Holloway is under pressure?
He admitted after the game that he got his team selection wrong and should have started with Idrissa Sylla up front against the Tigers rather than ask youngster Ebere Eze to lead the line on his own in in the absence of the ill Matt Smith.
Fernandes clearly agreed that Holloway had got it wrong.
Poor game. Probably not the best team selection as manager said. I don’t understand some of the abuse. But hey it’s a few world. We continue with our plans unabated.

We want a team of backroom that builds for the future starting with the academy. That’s what I’ll be talking to fans about when I’m over.

On paper, Holloway’s record since returning for a second spell as Rangers manager isn’t overly impressive.
The defeat at Hull was their 37th loss in the 75 matches since Holloway was given the job at Loftus Road in November 2016.
In fact, that record does not compare favourably with those of his predecessors Chris Ramsey and Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, who both managed higher win percentages before being sacked by the club after short spells at the helm.
