Exciting QPR forward looks set for pre-deadline move

QPR striker Sinclair Armstrong looks set to spend the rest of the season playing in League One.

QPR striker Sinclair Armstrong looks set to spend the rest of the season playing in League One.

West London Sport have been reporting that Rangers are considering allowing the 19-year-old Dubliner out on loan in order to give him more experience, and that several clubs have shown an interest.

And Football Insider say Sheffield Wednesday and Lincoln City are leading the race to snap up Armstrong ahead of Tuesday’s transfer deadline.

“There’s a lot of interest in Sinclair,” QPR boss Neil Critchley told West London Sport.

“It’s always that decision around what’s best for him and for us at this stage of his development. That will be a decision we have in the next 48 to 72 hours.”

Armstrong has made 13 first-team appearances for Rangers this season and the club have high hopes for him. He has previously been on loan at National League sides Aldershot and Torquay.

West London Sport say QPR are keen for him to now pick up first-team experience in the EFL but are also mindful that their attacking options are limited and that Armstrong might therefore be needed at Loftus Road.

Those options have been further limited by the recent absence of Lyndon Dykes, who missed Saturday’s defeat at Hull after being admitted to hospital with an illness.
