Defender emerges as QPR transfer target

QPR want Manchester United youngster Harry Amass, West London Sport reports.

The promising left-back, who recently turned 19, joined Norwich City on loan in January but suffered a hamstring injury days after making his debut for the Canaries.

It meant Amass, who is a Londoner, returned to United, who expect him to be fit again for the start of pre-season.

West London Sport say Norwich want Amass back but that there is also interest from QPR, who are reviewing their left-back options.

Rangers have had Rhys Norrington-Davies on a season-long loan and he will soon return to parent club Sheffield United.

West London Sport say the R’s are potentially interested in keeping Norrington-Davies but that Amass is their top target.

The club also have two other left-backs in Ziyah Larkeche, who has been out with a long-term knee injury, and Brazilian youngster Esquerdinha.

Amass was at Watford before being signed by United in 2023. He has made five Premier League appearances for the Red Devils and has played for England at various age levels.

He was on loan at Sheffield Wednesday during the first part of the season and impressed in a struggling side.

There were therefore high hopes for him at Norwich, but that loan was ruined by his injury.
