Steve McClaren is set to inherit a squad of promising players at QPR, with a number of youngsters having impressed last season.
But some of the other players have found the going tough at Loftus Road in the last year or so.
Perhaps they have reached the end of the road at Rangers. Or will McClaren be able to help them turn a corner?
Conor Washington
It’s not worked out for the striker since his move from Peterborough and he appeared to lose heart last season, especially during the second half of the campaign. Both parties could be forgiven for giving up and looking to go their separate ways, but if McClaren can get something out of Washington it would give the club a major boost – and save them some money.
Idrissa Sylla
Another striker who might well have played his last game for the club, but McClaren might well see something to work with. Sylla was never a favourite of ex-boss Ian Holloway but his goalscoring record is pretty decent.
Jordan Cousins
The midfielder has struggled for fitness and form since his arrival from Charlton and he faces very stiff competition for a place. But there were signs last season of Cousins beginning to find his feet again after a difficult couple of years.
Bright Osayi-Samuel
Brought in under Holloway, who was well aware of his potential. But it’s been a stop-start first year for Osayi-Samuel at QPR and the incoming manager will be looking for him to more consistently deliver the kind of quality he showed in flashes towards the end of the season.
