Another injury blow for QPR star

QPR defender Grant Hall is nursing another injury – this time a back problem.

Hall previously spent a long spell on the sidelines with a knee injury and also had subsequent niggling problems.

And he was injured in the warm-up ahead of Saturday’s draw with Birmingham City.

Manager Mark Warburton explained to West London Sport that an existing problem flared up and meant Hall was withdrawn from the starting line-up.

He was pulled out of training on Friday but it was felt that he would be fit enough to play against the Blues at the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium, where Rangers drew 2-2.

Hall was replaced in the team by youngster Conor Masterson, while veteran full-back Angel Rangel took the captain’s armband.

Warburton said: “He had a tight back in training. We pulled him out, just to be cautious. It spasmed in the warm-up so young Conor stepped straight in.”

It is not yet known whether Hall will be available to return for Saturday’s away match against play-off chasing Preston North End.

Warburton’s side are now unbeaten in five matches but were denied victory against Birmingham by Scott Hogan’s late equaliser.

A victory would have left Rangers just seven points behind the play-off positions.
