Tottenham-linked winger reportedly offered new deal – but finances may help Spurs

Galatasaray have offered winger Bruma a new contract in order to ward off interest from Tottenham, according to reports.

The Turkish Football website says Spurs have been closely monitoring the Portuguese star with a view to making a move for him in the summer.

They claim the Istanbul giants have set aside €2.5m (around £2.1m) per season until 2022 for the 22-year-old, and want to include a release clause reflecting their €20m (£17m) valuation of him.

The player’s existing deal with Gala expires at the end of the 2017-18 season and he has been linked with a number of European clubs.

However, the report adds that Galatasaray must stay within budget if they are to avoid falling foul again of Financial Fair Play (FFP) guidelines.

Their finances are still being monitored by Uefa, having been suspended from European competition by the governing body for a year.

Bruma is having his best season yet in a Galatasaray shirt, with seven assists and seven goals in 25 appearances.

The Guinea-Bissau born winger came through the ranks at Sporting Lisbon and has also had a loan spell at Real Sociedad.

He is the younger brother of Mesca, a former Chelsea trainee, who also made one senior appearance for Fulham in September 2013.
