Arsenal fans were unsurprisingly scathing towards their team and manager Arsene Wenger after the 5-1 thrashing at the hands of Bayern Munich.
Some blamed an absent-looking Mesut Ozil, others questioned Wenger’s selection and tactics, but quite a few pinpointed two players in particular.
Francis Coquelin was criticised for failing to screen the defence sufficiently, while Gabriel had a torrid time – he came on for the injured Laurent Koscielny with the score at 1-1, and 15 minutes later they were 4-1 down.
We need to bin Coquelin and Gabriel. They won’t stand a chance when a competent manager comes in.

The first thing a new manager at Arsenal should do is sell Coquelin and Gabriel… Don’t need them at our club

Honestly, we will never be able to win anything with players like coquelin and Gabriel in the side, it’s the bitter truth, more quality pls

Honestly I want Wenger to stay but if you tell me if he goes Coquelin and Gabriel follow. Where do I sign?

Cute that we thought we could win playing coquelin and Gabriel in the same team #FCBvAFC

All i know is when you have Coquelin in your starting XI and Gabriel is your first relief sub- you’re already in an uphill battle #arsenal

Even I can’t try and defend Gabriel and Coq anymore.

Some fans also lumped Alex Iwobi in with Coquelin and Gabriel as the blame-game continued…
Coquelin, Gabriel & Iwobi should not be playing in a game of tonight’s calibre.
I love them all, but decisions need to be made on them.

Coquelin, Iwobi and Gabriel not good enough I’m afraid!

Gabriel, coquelin and Iwobi are NOT anywhere near the level required to play for Arsenal. #afc

I don’t understand how Iwobi, Coquelin and Gabriel are playing in the Champions league uno
