Canos does not regret Norwich move

Brentford midfielder Sergi Canos insists he has no regrets about his short-lived spell at Norwich.

Canos signed for the Canaries in the summer from Liverpool but the 20-year-old was unable to make an impact at Carrow Road.

He made just nine appearances in all competitions for Norwich before being sold to Brentford on transfer deadline day.

However, the Evening Standard reports that Canos does not feel the move was a mistake.

“I was very frustrated with the whole situation, with not playing with the first team and not training with the first team,” the Spaniard said.

“[But] I don’t regret anything. We thought it was the best decision to make.

“I was looking for other options. Brentford said [in the summer] it was too much money but they could make the transfer in this window and it is amazing to be back.”

Canos, signed after Brentford sold striker Scott Hogan to Aston Villa, made a big impression at Griffin Park during a loan spell last season and made his return to the club as a substitute in the Bees’ 3-3 draw with Brighton on Sunday.

He has signed a four-and-a-half year contract with Brentford, who have the option to extend the deal until 2020.
