Southampton are reportedly planning a move for Charlton midfielder Joe Aribo.
The 22-year-old, who has played a key role in Charlton reaching the League One play-off final, is coming towards the end of his contract and has reportedly told the Addicks that he will not sign a new deal.
He has impressed since joining Charlton from non-League Staines Town four years ago and reports have suggested that Premier League clubs have been keeping a close eye on him.
The Sunday Express say Arsenal and Manchester City have been watching Aribo but that Southampton are ready to make a firm move.
Charlton boss Lee Bowyer is keen for the player to sign a new contract at The Valley.
Bowyer recently said: “We are trying our hardest to get Joe to sign a contract.
“The speculation with Arsenal, if that is the case, shows we have done a good job with him.
“He was hardly playing last season, now he has got teams like Arsenal supposedly looking at him.
“We want him to sign not just for us, but for his own career so we just need to get over this barrier that’s been put in front of us.”
