Roy Keane has hailed Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham for the way he has taken his chance for club and country.
Abraham was given his big chance by Blues boss Frank Lampard this season and has responded in style, scoring 10 goals for Chelsea already this term.
And he scored his first England goal in the 7-0 thrashing of Montenegro after coming on as a second-half substitute in the Euro 2020 qualifier at Wembley.
Former Manchester United star Keane has praised Abraham for making his mark.
Speaking as a pundit on ITV, Keane said: “Outstanding. He’s gone out on loan, had to bide his time, and the key for any young player when you get an opportunity at a big club or an international, you’ve got to take it. He’s taken it. All credit to him.”
Keane was joined on ITV by former Chelsea star Ashley Cole, who also praised Abraham – and compared him to Tottenham striker Harry Kane, who scored a hat-trick.
Cole said: “The style is a little bit like Harry. He knows where the goal is and he wants to be in front of the goal.
“At the moment he’s not needing too many chances to finish. He’s getting one or two chances and he’s burying them, which is a good sign for any striker.”
