QPR agree Hugill deal – and others are set to follow

QPR have agreed a deal for Jordan Hugill to stay on loan with them for the remainder of the season.

The striker’s season-long loan from West Ham was due to end this month.

West London Sport report that it has been extended so that Hugill can remain with Rangers for the rest of the Championship campaign.

Hugill, who recently turned 28, has made 37 league appearances for QPR, scoring 11 goals.

He became a key man for the R’s following the departure of Nahki Wells, who was bought by Bristol City in January.

Rangers responded well to that setback and matches were suspended because of the coronavirus outbreak with Mark Warburton’s side unbeaten in six matches.

It moved them to within six points of the play-off places ahead of the run-in, which is scheduled to get going with a game at home to Barnsley on 20 June.

Hugill’s extension is a big boost for the R’s and it seems likely that Luke Amos, who is on a season-long loan from Tottenham, will also stay on.

It remains to be seen whether Jack Clarke, also on loan from Spurs, will also be kept on – he has barely featured since moving to west London.

Meanwhile, the contracts of Grant Hall, Angel Rangel, Geoff Cameron and Marc Pugh are due to expire and are surely likely to be extended so they can complete the season.
