Chelsea urged to re-sign ‘perfect’ Ake

Chelsea have been urged to re-sign Nathan Ake from Bournemouth by Blues scout Piet de Visser.

Defender Ake, sold by Chelsea to Bournemouth two years ago, has been linked with a possible return to Stamford Bridge during the last two transfer windows.

There is reportedly a buy-clause in the deal that saw Ake join the Cherries which would enable Chelsea to re-sign him for £40m.

Everton have also recently been linked with the Dutchman, who has impressed during his time on the south coast.

Chelsea are currently subject to a transfer ban, which is due to cease at the end of the season, although a successful appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport would lead to the ban being lifted in January.

That would enable Blues boss Frank Lampard – a former team-mate of Ake – to bring in new players sooner rather than later.

And talent-spotter De Visser has no doubt that Chelsea should take the opportunity to bring Ake back to London.

“Ake should have played for Chelsea by now. He’s so good,” De Visser told Dutch newspaper De Volkskrant, as reported by The Sun.

“How often does he not score with head? He has timing and insight. I hope they buy him back.

“That boy is perfect for them and he has played with Lampard.”
