David Moyes admitted the scoreline flattered West Ham after their 3-1 win over his former club Everton.
Both teams created chances but the Hammers took the points.
Boss Moyes said: “Bit of a throwback, probably never a 3-1 victory. Everton had a few chances and our goalkeeper played brilliantly well.
“Games in the Premier League are tight and small margins quite often win them.
“We hadn’t done enough in the first half, I wanted us to make more chances. We scored three goals today and seven overall this week. Our keeper made three or four big saves today that probably stopped Everton getting a result.
“Huge to turn it around. It looked as if Everton might get another goal when they went ahead. Things went for us today when things haven’t in recent weeks. [Tomas] Soucek brilliant goal so well done to the lads they were brilliant.
“We’re getting back to where we were – in the main goal scoring has been pretty good this season. I’m really pleased.
