Levy reportedly set to give Pochettino £100m to spend

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino will be given £100m to spend this summer, The Sun say.

There has been much speculation over the size of Pochettino’s budget amid reports that a number of players could be shipped out as part of a revamp of the squad.

Christian Eriksen, Toby Alderweireld and Kieran Trippier are among those to have been linked with a move away from Spurs, who have also been tipped to offload the likes of Victor Wanyama and Vincent Janssen.

The Daily Mail recently claimed that Pochettino would be given £150m by chairman Daniel Levy. The Times, on the other hand, reported that Pochettino would again have to work within a restricted budget.

Now The Sun claim that £100m is figure he has been assigned at the end of the season.

The story comes after Pochettino seemed to suggest at a press conference that the club need to spend in order to progress.

He said: “Everyone says Tottenham have an amazing house but if you want a lovely house maybe you need better furniture. And it depends on your budget if you are going to spend money.”

Now we’ve finished the training ground, the stadium, what does the club want to achieve and what are the fans going to expect from the club?

“We cannot live like we lived the last five years. We achieved a lot of things, overachieved maybe. I don’t know.

“We need to fight for big things, behave like a big club and do things properly.”
