Newcastle are reportedly in the race to sign Philippe Coutinho.
There have been reports that the former Liverpool star could be heading to London when the transfer window reopens.
Chelsea and Tottenham have been linked with Coutinho, who is currently on loan at Bayern Munich from Barcelona.
He has failed to make an impact at Barca since being bought from Liverpool and looks to have no future at the Catalan club.
He also looks to have no future at Bayern, who are reportedly not planning to take up an option to buy him this summer.
There have been reports that Chelsea have been in talks to sign the Brazilian and that a deal is now close.
Now Newcastle are being linked with him ahead of a takeover of the Tyneside club by a Saudi-led consortium.
The Daily Mirror have picked up on a story by Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo claiming that Newcastle’s prospective new owners are willing to pay £110m in order to sign Coutinho.
Meanwhile, the Daily Mail suggest Chelsea will not pursue a deal for Coutinho and are looking at other targets.
Blues boss Frank Lampard is keen to add to his attacking options, having been unable to bring in the forward he wanted in January.
