Chelsea continue to be linked with Bayer Leverkusen winger Kai Havertz.
The Daily Telegraph reports that the Blues are preparing an offer for the Germany international, who has also been linked with the likes of Liverpool, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid.
The Telegraph say Chelsea are prepared to pay around £70m for Havertz, although the current asking price is reported to be around £90m.
It is felt that price could come down, especially if Leverkusen fail to reach the Champions League.
No move for Gomes
However, it seems Chelsea will NOT be signing Manchester United youngster Angel Gomes.
Speaking at a news conference via video on Tuesday afternoon, Blues boss Frank Lampard said Gomes had “never been mentioned at my end” as a potential signing.
That’s despite reports earlier in the day declaring that Chelsea were looking to snap up the midfielder.
Gomes has reportedly turned down a contract offer at United and is expected to leave Old Trafford.
‘No talk’ of Rice deal
Lampard has also played down speculation linking Declan Rice with a move to Stamford Bridge from West Ham.
He said there was “no talk” of signing Rice when asked about the Hammers star.
“Until these games are finished there’s nothing to say,” Lampard added.
Blues duo doubtful
Chelsea could be without Christian Pulisic and Andreas Christensen against the Hammers on Wednesday night.
Pulisic has been nursing a calf issue and Christensen has been out with a hip problem.
“Christian felt a bit of tightness in his calf in the game against Leicester,” Lampard explained. “We are managing him we haven’t got an answer yet.
“Andreas is in the squad but will have to see with another 24 hours.”
