Reports: Luiz leaving Chelsea and Real chiefs want Eriksen

David Luiz is on this way out of Chelsea, while Real Madrid are determined to sign Tottenham midfielder Christian Eriksen, according to the Express.

Luiz, who is in his second spell at Stamford Bridge, is coming towards the end of his contract.

The club have a policy of not offering longer than one-year deals to players over the age of the 30 and Luiz looks set to move on.

Meanwhile, the Express reports that Eriksen is a top target for Real during this month’s transfer window.

Eriksen’s Spurs contract expires next year and reports in Spain suggest he will not sign a new deal.

That would leave Spurs with a decision to make over whether to sell Eriksen, who has also been linked with Paris St-Germain and Manchester United.

Speaking of United, Paul Pogba has also been strongly linked with a move to Real.

But the Express cite respected Spanish journalist Guillem Balague, who is convinced Real chiefs would rather buy Eriksen than Pogba.

“I’m quite certain [Real president] Florentino Perez and the club would like Eriksen instead. Cheaper and a more Real Madrid player,” he said.

“Modric I believe they want to sell because they need to raise money, so you don’t have Modric but you have Eriksen, that’s sorted out.

“But do you really need Pogba? Zidane thinks he does and the club thinks they don’t.”
