Chelsea youngster Jake Clarke-Salter’s next spell out on loan looks likely to be at Birmingham City.
Blues boss Frank Lampard is keen for the defender to pick up more first-team experience and a number of Championship clubs are interested.
Leeds United and Swansea City want the England Under-21 international but the Telegraph reports that Birmingham boss Pep Clotet is in pole position to snap him up.
Clarke-Salter is likely to move on loan along with Fikayo Tomori, who spent last season on loan at Derby and is now expected to join a Premier League club.
Both players are currently behind the likes of David Luiz, Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen in the pecking order at Chelsea.
Meanwhile, Chelsea’s Dujon Sterling is set to join West London neighbours QPR on a season-long loan.
Sterling, who was on loan at Coventry last season, is set to move to Loftus Road as a replacement for Darnell Furlong, who has completed a move to West Bromwich Albion.
Furlong, son of former QPR and Chelsea striker Paul, is a product of the R’s academy and last season returned to action after a spell out with a knee problem. He has moved to Albion in a deal worth around £1.5m.
