Arsenal tipped to target Brighton’s Bissouma in January

Arsenal continue to be linked with Brighton midfielder Yves Bissouma despite the transfer window having closed.

The Gunners, Liverpool and Manchester United were linked with the Albion star throughout the summer.

No move materialised, but the Daily Mirror declare that all three clubs are “set to engage in a three-way transfer tussle” for Bissouma when the transfer window reopens in January.

He has been a revelation since being signed from Lille in 2018 and Brighton have made it clear they are determined to keep the Mali international.

Arsenal got the midfielder they wanted in Martin Odegaard, who was signed on a permanent deal from Real Madrid after impressing while on loan from the Spanish club.

Speaking at a press conference this week, Odegaard insisted he was harshly treated by the Spanish media and was looking to make a fresh start in England.

“Absolutely everything that has been reported about me in Spanish media is wrong,” he said.

‘I am so happy to be back in Arsenal. I loved it here from the first day I came in January.

“I wanted stability. I wanted to settle down somewhere with a lot of good players who want to establish the club back in the top, with a good manager. That’s why I think Arsenal is pretty perfect for me.”
