Paper round-up: Arsenal, Liverpool and Man Utd chasing deal for France star

Paris St-Germain’s Adrien Rabiot is again being linked with Premier League clubs, including Arsenal.

The Daily Mirror say the Gunners, Liverpool and Manchester United are keen to sign the France international – who has also been linked with Tottenham – after Real Madrid apparently pulled out of the race to sign him.

It comes after Spanish newspaper AS claimed that Real have ended their interest in Rabiot because of his wage demands. His contract at PSG expires at the end of the season.

Meanwhile, West Ham are interested in Arsenal striker Danny Welbeck, also according to the Mirror.

Welbeck’s Gunners contract expires this summer and the Mirror say the Hammers are monitoring his situation along with Newcastle and Everton.

The newspaper say Arsenal are considering making Welbeck an offer to stay at the Emirates but that any new deal might include a lower basic wage with more bonus-related pay because of the ankle injury he is current sidelined with.

Chelsea are set to offer Petr Cech a role at the club, the Daily Telegraph reports.

Arsenal goalkeeper Cech, who spent 11 trophy-laden years with the Blues, is retiring from playing at the end of the season.

The Daily Mail reports that a Chelsea fan accused of racially abusing Manchester City’s Raheem Sterling will not be prosecuted. Lip-readers have reportedly supported his claim that he did not aim a racist remark at the player.

The Daily Star reports that Real Madrid have offered Chelsea the option to extend Mateo Kovacic’s loan for another season – but with an obligation to then buy the midfielder for £26m.

And Fulham caretaker boss Scott Parker could give 16-year-old Harvey Elliot a Premier League debut, according to the Mail.
