Arsenal tipped to target Lamptey if Bellerin leaves

Arsenal are interested in Brighton’s former Chelsea right-back Tariq Lamptey, according to the Daily Mirror.

Manchester City have also been linked with the 20-year-old, who has been a revelation since leaving Stamford Bridge to join the Seagulls.

But the Mirror say Arsenal will compete with City for the signing of Lamptey if the Gunners lose Hector Bellerin.

It comes after reports that Bellerin could leave the Emirates Stadium to rejoin his boyhood club Barcelona.

Bayern Munich have also been linked with Lamptey, who has been tipped for an England call-up despite the competition for a right-back place in the national side.

The likes of Chelsea’s Reece James, Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold and Manchester United’s Aaron Wan-Bissaka are also options for England boss Gareth Southgate, but Lamptey’s performances have put him in contention as well.

Meanwhile, there continues to be speculation over the future of Arsenal outcast Mesut Ozil.

The Sun have picked up on Italian outlet Tuttosport reporting that Juventus are interested in Ozil.

Juve are said to be ready to pay the German’s wages in order to take him on loan for the second half of the season.

The Telegraph have reported that Arsenal players are divided over whether Ozil should be recalled to the squad by boss Mikel Arteta.
