Liverpool have reportedly opened contract talks with Joe Gomez.

The South Londoner, 21, has impressed since moving to Anfield from Charlton, performing well for the Reds and breaking into the England side.

And The Times say his excellent start to the season has led Liverpool to discuss extending his contract.

Meanwhile, Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino is keen to offload players and freshen up his squad in January, The Sun reports.

Spurs, the only Premier League club not to make a signing in January, are expected to spend when the transfer window reopens.

The Sun say the club want to sell Mousa Dembele, who could otherwise leave for nothing when his contract expires at the end of the season, and that Spurs will listen to offers for Victor Wanyama and Georges-Kevin Nkoudou.

The newspaper also say Pochettino wants Vincent Janssen out as well but that Danny Rose is set to stay after forcing his way back into favour.

The Sun also continue to link Pochettino with Real Madrid, claiming that the Spanish club “are making a desperate last-ditch bid” to land him.

Former Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has been tipped to replace Julen Lopetegui but it is claimed that Real would rather appoint Pochettinio.

Tottenham are interested in Burnley and England goalkeeper Nick Pope, according to the Daily Mirror, which has also picked up on more reports in Miguel Almiron’s native Paraguay claiming that Spurs and Arsenal both want the Atlanta United forward.

The Daily Mail say Crystal Palace will back manager Roy Hodgson by giving him money to spend in January.

Striker Christian Benteke is out until the new year after knee surgery, while fellow forwards Alexander Sorloth and Jordan Ayew have not yet made an impact.

The Mail say Palace are therefore ready to spend and that bringing in a striker will be the club’s priority.

The Sun declare that Gary Cahill will “consider a U-turn” and stay at Chelsea, having previously said he might seek a move in January.

The Sun have also picked up on reports that Czech billionaire Petr Kellner is lining up a partial takeover of Chelsea.

The Daily Mail reports that Chelsea continue to insist owner Roman Abramovich is not interested in selling.

And the Daily Star claim Chelsea are considering a move for PSV Eindhoven’s Mexico striker Hirving Lozano.
