Arsenal are reportedly in the strongest position of the clubs competing to sign prolific Fiorentina striker Dušan Vlahović.
The 21-year-old has scored 16 goals in 19 Serie A games this season and Tottenham, Manchester United and Juventus are also said to be interested in the striker, whose contract expires in 2023.
But according to The Athletic’s David Ornstein, the Gunners are currently in the strongest position in the race to sign the Serbian, with Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette both potentially leaving the club in the near future.
Aubameyang has been left out in the cold since returning late from a trip aboard which saw boss Mikel Arteta remove him as captain, while Lacazette is out of contract at the end of this season.
According to a report from Gazzetta dello Sport in Italy earlier this week, the Gunners have tabled an of £46 million plus midfielder Lucas Torreira, who is currently on loan with the Italian club, for the striker.
And according to Ornstein, Arsenal are the best placed of the striker’s current suitors because of the fee they will pay and the salary they will offer the 21-year-old.
The club have also been linked with Real Sociedad striker Alexander Isak in recent days as they reportedly look to move on from Aubameyang, who has been linked with the likes of Newcastle and Barcelona.
