Kevin McDonald says his Fulham team-mate Ryan Sessegnon deserves credit for his work ethic as well as his exceptional ability.
Both players scored in the Whites’ 3-0 win at Millwall, which lifted them back above Cardiff City and into second place in the Championship.
Sessegnon’s goal was his 15th of the season, further enhancing the 17-year-old’s growing reputation.
Tottenham are among the clubs keen on the youngster and Manchester United have also been linked with him.
And McDonald believes Sessegnon has the mentality as well as the talent to go right to the top.
“Sess has been consistent all season,” McDonald told reporters. “For such a young kid, he impresses every game. He picks himself up for the big stage.
“He works hard every day in training – probably the one who works hardest. We’re happy to have him. How long we’ll have him for, I’m not sure, but he’s doing well for us just now.
“Sess is just that guy. He’s on a wave right now and just continuing in every game. We’re proud of him and we’re lucky to have him.”
Friday night’s derby win at The Den extended Fulham’s unbeaten run in the Championship to 22 matches.
