Leeds United decide against move for Fulham star

Leeds United are reportedly not pursuing a deal to sign Fulham midfielder Harrison Reed.

It was recently claimed that Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa was keen to take Reed to Elland Road this summer.

However, Yorkshire Post reporter Graham Smyth has suggested that is not the case.

Bielsa is expected to target a midfielder this summer, but Smyth writes that Reed “is not on the list of likely targets” for Leeds during the current transfer window.

There is speculation over the futures of various Fulham players following the club’s relegation from the Premier League back down to the Championship.

Reed was signed on a permanent deal from Southampton a year ago after impressing during a season-long loan at Craven Cottage.

He did well in the top flight despite Fulham’s struggles and it seems likely that clubs will therefore show an interest in him in the weeks ahead.

But a move to Leeds seems unlikely, with the Yorkshire side seemingly looking at other targets.

Reed has three years remaining on his contract at Fulham, who hold an option to extend that deal by another year.

The 26-year-old made 31 league appearances for them last season, with five of those coming as a substitute.
