Arsene Wenger and Andre Villas-Boas rejected the chance to take over at Fulham before the appointment of Claudio Ranieri, according to reports.

Former Chelsea and Leicester manager Ranieri is back in the Premier League, having taken over at Craven Cottage, replacing the sacked Slavisa Jokanovic.

The Daily Mirror say Wenger was offered the chance to return to management with the Cottagers but turned the job down.

The Daily Telegraph also say Wenger said no to Fulham because he does not want to manage another English club after his long spell in charge at Arsenal – and is reportedly interested in taking over at German side Bayern Munich.

The Telegraph say former Chelsea and Tottenham manager Villas-Boas also turned Fulham down, as did former Monaco boss Leonardo Jardim.

Meanwhile, Chelsea are favourites to sign Borussia Dortmund star Christian Pulisic, according to The Guardian.

“England, the Premier League, is a league where lots of kids dream of playing so there is no reason why maybe one day I won’t play here,” he said.

And Chelsea have also been linked with Marko Arnautovic.

The Daily Mirror reports that Arnautovic’s brother, who also acts as his agent, has claimed that Chelsea are interested in signing the West Ham forward.
