Fulham manager Claudio Ranieri has confirmed that Timothy Fosu-Mensah is set to return to Manchester United.
The right-back has struggled to hold down a first-team place since arriving in west London from United on a season-long loan during the summer.
That loan deal is now set to be terminated, paving the way for him to move elsewhere.
Speaking at a press conference on Thursday afternoon, Ranieri said he felt a return to Old Trafford for Fosu-Mensah would be best for all parties.
“Timothy coming back (to United) I think is much better for him to find a solution,” the Italian explained.
Ranieri refused to comment on possible incomings and dismissed as “rumours” reports that Whites midfielder Stefan Johansen is wanted by Italian giants AC Milan.
Pressed on whether he believed Johansen would still be at Craven Cottage after this month’s transfer window, Ranieri said: “If he stays then I am happy.”
