Former England manager Roy Hodgson could replace Frank De Boer as Crystal Palace boss, according to The Sun on Sunday.

The newspaper suggests that De Boer is “fighting a losing battle” at Selhurst Park after just three games into his tenure.

Palace have lost to Huddersfield Town, Liverpool and Swansea City, conceding six goals and being yet to score themselves.

Several reports have claimed that Palace are already considering making a change, despite only appointing De Boer 69 days ago.

The defeat by Swansea has apparently left De Boer under pressure to change his tactics in an effort to adapt to English football.

The Sun on Sunday suggests Hodgson – who resigned as national-team boss after a dismal Euro 2016 – will be among the candidates if Palace dispense with Dutchman De Boer.

Croydon-born Hodgson began his modest playing career as a youngster at Palace in the mid-1960s, before becoming a success as a manager with the likes of Inter Milan, Malmo, Copenhagen and the Switzerland and Finland national teams, among others.

He took Fulham to the Europa League final before an ill-fated spell at Liverpool, but did lead England at three major tournaments.
