Paper round-up: Palace set to make offer for Newcastle man

Crystal Palace are set to make a bid for Newcastle defender Ciaran Clark, according to The Sun.

Palace boss Roy Hodgson is keen to sign a centre-back this summer and the Eagles are said to be offering £5m for Clark.

The Sun say new Magpies boss Steve Bruce will make the decision on whether Clark can leave St James’ Park.

Meanwhile, Juventus have confirmed they have received approaches for Tottenham target Paulo Dybala.

Manchester United have also been linked with the Argentina forward, whom Spurs are hoping to take to north London in the final days of the transfer window.

The Daily Mirror quote Juve vice-chairman Pavel Nedved as saying: “There are some proposals, there is some interest, but we wait for concrete action so we can then decide calmly.”

The Sun say Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette is winning his race to recover from injury in time for the first game of the season at Newcastle and that the Gunners want £10m for Polish midfielder Krystian Bielik.

Brentford are reportedly among clubs keen on Bielik, who was on loan at Charlton last season.

The Mirror have picked up on reports in France that Monaco have made an enquiry about Arsenal defender Shkodran Mustafi.

And the Daily Mail reports that Arsenal’s £72m deal to sign Nicolas Pepe will involve the Gunners paying £20m up front for the winger and the other £52m in instalments within five years.
