Scott Dann could return for Crystal Palace in their vital game against fellow strugglers Hull City on Sunday.
A point at Selhurst Park would clinch Premier League survival for the Eagles and boss Sam Allardyce is considering bringing Dann back into the side for the big game.
The defender has been out with a knee injury since the shock win at Chelsea on 1 April but has responded well to treatment and appears to be in with a chance of playing this weekend.
He will be assessed ahead of the game and Allardyce will include him if he believes Dann is fit enough.
Allardyce explained: “Scott Dann’s got a chance if it’s worth risking. It may be a calculated risk.”
Palace will also assess James Tomkins, Yohan Cabaye and Mamadou Sakho ahead of the match.
“We’re stuck waiting on any of those being fit,” said Allardyce.
“The more likely is James and Yohan to be fit – they are not training with us yet but are making good progress.
“That real decision won’t happen until probably Saturday morning. Then we’ll see what we’ve got available.
“It’s not ideal preparation if we do have to make some changes, but we’ll work on our system and shape and make a selection on who’s going to go into battle with Hull City.”
