Wolves v Chelsea: Blues duo doubtful, changes likely, key Wolves man misses out

Mateo Kovacic and Marcos Alonso are doubts for Chelsea’s Premier League clash at Wolves on Wednesday.

Midfielder Kovacic has an ankle problem and Alonso has a back complaint, with both set to be assessed before kick-off.

Blues head coach Maurizio Sarri may rotate his options in the second of nine games in December, so Ruben Loftus-Cheek could make his first Premier League start of the season.

Provisional squad: Kepa, Caballero, Rudiger, Alonso, Fabregas, Jorginho, Kante, Barkley, Hazard, Pedro, Kovacic, Giroud, Zappacosta, Willian, Cahill, Christensen, Azpilicueta, Morata, Luiz, Emerson Palmieri, Loftus-Cheek, Hudson-Odoi, Ampadu, Bulka.

Wolves will be without Ruben Neves, who received his fifth yellow card of the season during the defeat at Cardiff and must serve a one-match suspension.

Wing-back Jonny Otto continues his recovery from the knee injury he sustained while playing for Spain during last month’s international break.

Provisional squad: Patricio, Ruddy, Norris, Doherty, Dendoncker, Bennett, Enobakhare, Hause, Boly, Coady, Gibbs-White, Jota, Saiss, Costa, Moutinho, Vinagre, Bonatini, Traore, Jimenez.
