Chelsea are being tipped to step up their pursuit of Leicester left-back Ben Chilwell amid reports that Alex Telles is set to move elsewhere.
Chelsea have been strongly linked with both players, with Blues boss Lampard expected to strengthen the left-back position this season.
But Porto’s Telles now looks as though he will be joining French giants Paris St-Germain rather than making the move to London.
Telles’ contract at Porto expires in 2021 and the Portuguese club have been widely tipped to sell him this summer.
And reports in Portugal suggest a £21m deal has been agreed for the 27-year-old to move to PSG.
That Sun say Chelsea will therefore step up their pursuit of England international Chilwell, even though he is likely to cost considerably more than Telles.
The newspaper in fact suggest Chilwell could cost up to four times more – that follows recent reports that Leicester will demand £80m for Chilwell if Chelsea make an approach for him.
Lampard is certainly likely to bring in a left-back, with Marcos Alonso and Emerson Palmieri having rarely looked like viable long-term options this season.
Lampard has at times even preferred an out-of-position Cesar Azpilicueta in that position, so a new signing looks inevitable.
