Warburton wants Chelsea defender and there’s another backroom change at QPR

QPR are reportedly hoping to sign left-back Jay Dasilva on loan from neighbours Chelsea.

The England Under-21 international was on loan at Bristol City last season and the Robins want to keep him.

But Football Insider say QPR are also keen on Dasilva, with new R’s boss Mark Warburton hoping to take him to Loftus Road.

Rangers are looking for a left-back following the departure of Jake Bidwell, who was one of several out-of-contract players to recently leave the club.

Dasilva would certainly be a quality signing by Warburton, but there will be no shortage of Championship managers hoping to snap him up this summer after his impressive performances last season.

Meanwhile, there has been another change to the backroom team at the club following Warburton’s recent arrival.

West London Sport, which initially reported that Warburton would be bringing in Neil Banfield, who was later installed as first-team coach, now say scout Kevin Reeves is leaving his role.

Former England striker Reeves, who played for Manchester City and Norwich, was brought in when Gary Penrice took charge of QPR’s scouting operation in 2017.

He previously worked with ex-QPR player and coach Penrice at Everton and Wigan.
