Paper round-up: Spurs linked with Rice

Tottenham are planning a move for West Ham star Declan Rice, the Daily Express claim.

The 20-year-old signed a new long-term contract in December but the Express claim West Ham “face a battle” to hang onto him.

The newspaper say Spurs are planning to offer £35m for Rice this summer and that Liverpool are also interested.

Rice has been identified as a possible replacement for Christian Eriksen at Spurs, the Express say.

Meanwhile, The Sun reports that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has told Manchester United chief Ed Woodward to keep him in charge at Old Trafford rather than appoint Mauricio Pochettino.

Tottenham manager Pochettino continues to be linked with United and Real Madrid.

The Sun’s story is based on comments United interim manager Solskjaer made at a press conference on Friday.

He said: “Challenging for every trophy, that’s what we should be about.

“Two years’ time is long enough, but it’s also short enough, to say that we’ve got the possibility to make a big difference.

“I’ve got a picture of what this Man United team should look like in a couple of years.

“I put my views to Ed Woodward and the club. If we don’t dream and we don’t have that vision of where we are going then we will just falter.

“We’ve got the resources and the infrastructure and the history to move towards the top — and that is the only way we should think about things at Man United.”

The Sun have also picked up on more reports in France linking Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante with a move to Paris St-Germain.

Le10 Sport have reported that the France international’s relationship with Blues boss Maurizio Sarri is “not ideal” and that he could leave Stamford Bridge this summer.
