The futures of a number of Chelsea players remain uncertain – but it appears that the club are well on the way to agreeing long-term contracts with some of the squad.
The contracts of Willian, Pedro and Olivier Giroud are due to expire this summer and, while talks with Chelsea have taken place, there seems to be a good chance that they will move on.
But at least three other Chelsea players look like putting pen to paper and cementing their futures at Stamford Bridge.
Antonio Rudiger
West London Sport and Sky Sports both reported on Wednesday evening that Chelsea are discussing a new contract for the German defender and want to give him a new four-year deal. Rudiger’s current contract runs until 2022.
Tammy Abraham
Abraham has been in negotiations for some time and has effectively denied reports that talks have stalled because of his wage demands. It appears likely that the England striker will eventually put pen to paper.
Tino Anjorin
Youngster Anjorin recently made his first-team debut and Chelsea rate him highly. The club are putting the finishing touches to a new five-year contract, which is expected to be signed and sealed in the coming weeks.
