Maurizio Sarri says Pedro is crucial for Chelsea because he is their best player when it comes to movement off the ball.
Pedro missed Sunday’s goalless draw at West Ham with a shoulder injury he suffered during last week’s Europa League win against PAOK.
Chelsea are hoping he will be available for Saturday’s Premier League match at home to Liverpool.
And Blues head coach Sarri has no doubt about the Spaniard’s importance to the team.
Sarri said: “Pedro for us is very important because he is the best player we have with the movement without the ball.
“So in this moment of the season he is very important. We are trying to have him at the end of the week, but I don’t know.”
Sarri is also hopeful that an injury Antonio Rudiger picked up against West Ham is not serious and that the defender will also be available this weekend.
Rudiger went off midway through the second half at the London Stadium and appeared to be in some pain.
“I don’t know. I want to speak with the doctor but I think it’s nothing serious. I think maybe three or four days, nothing more,” Sarri said after the game.
