Manchester United are among clubs rivalling Chelsea for the signing of Birmingham City youngster Jude Bellingham, according to reports.
The 16-year-old Bellingham has caught the eye in the Championship and is widely regarded as one of England’s best prospects.Chelsea have been linked with him in recent months along with a number of other top clubs, including Borussia Dortmund.And The Sun reports that United are in strong contention to sign Bellingham despite reports he could go elsewhere.
The midfielder previously visited United’s training ground, prompting reports that he was on course to move to Old Trafford.
Chelsea have since also been tipped to move for him, but United appear determined to snap Bellingham up.
The Sun say United are lining up a deal potentially worth £35m.
The newspaper say Birmingham would like to sell him this summer and agree a deal for him to return to St Andrews on a season-long loan.
Birmingham are facing financial problems because of the coronavirus pandemic and it seems inevitable that Bellingham will be sold.
He has been given permission to speak to other clubs and there is no shortage of interest.
It remains to be seen whether Chelsea make a firm move for him.
Meanwhile, the Daily Mail say Dortmund are confident they will win the race to sign Bellingham.
