Ruben Loftus-Cheek has joined Crystal Palace on a season-long loan.
The Chelsea midfielder has attracted interest from a number of clubs, including Brighton, West Ham and Newcastle.
But Palace have snapped up Loftus-Cheek, 21, after he was told by Blues boss Antonio Conte that his first-team opportunities at Chelsea were likely to remain limited.
Loftus-Cheek made just six appearances last season and is keen to play regular Premier League football.
“I had the option of coming to Palace and I thought that it would be great for me,” Loftus-Cheek told the south London club’s website.
“I live not too far away, I was born in Lewisham and Palace is good club so I thought it’s a good chance to play here and be a part of the team.
“They have a very strong team and I’d like to be a part of that this season.”
