Chelsea boss Frank Lampard is set to make changes for his side’s Carabao Cup game against Manchester United.
Lampard has used youngsters Reece James and Billy Gilmour and is expected to do so again on Wednesday night at Stamford Bridge, where a quarter-final place will be at stake.
Right-back James really looked the part when given his first-team chance and midfielder Gilmour also looks to have a bright future ahead of him.
Lampard has also previously selected young defender Marc Guehi but might be more cautious about doing so against stronger opposition in United.
Callum Hudson-Odoi was on the bench on Saturday and Wednesday’s match seems like a good time to bring him back into the side.
Lampard will also want to keep Christian Pulisic’s momentum going and could well give the American another run-out.
That would allow the manager to rest Willian while giving the two young forwards more game time.
And up front, there could be a chance for Michy Batshuayi, who has impressed as a substitute.
Tammy Abraham is therefore likely to drop to the bench for this one, giving Batshuayi another opportunity to impress.
Likely Chelsea line-up: Caballero, James, Zouma, Tomori, Emerson, Jorginho, Gilmour, Hudson-Odoi, Mount, Pulisic, Batshuayi.
