Kai Havertz to Chelsea looks on – but Germany chief suggests he should move elsewhere

Kai Havertz is interested in a potential move to Chelsea, according to reports.

Blues boss Frank Lampard is keen to keep bolstering his attacking options and Germany winger Havertz has been linked with a move for some time.

German newspaper Bild have reported that Havertz has asked to leave Bayer Leverkusen, increasing speculation that he could be heading to Chelsea.

And reports now suggest he is interested in joining the Blues and would be keen to talk to them.

The Daily Telegraph say he would be keen to join international team-mates Timo Werner and Antonio Rudiger at Stamford Bridge.

However, Germany technical director Oliver Bierhoff has suggested that Havertz ought to join Real Madrid, who have also been linked with him.

Birehoff told Spanish newspaper Marca: “He’s a player for Real Madrid. He’s very young, but has everything – talent, technique, physique.

“He’s a complete player who will be very important for us, but he has to keep growing.”

With Lampard keen to improve his squad, there has been speculation that some players could be offloaded this summer.

One of them is Jorginho, but the midfielder has played down reports linking him with a move to Juventus.

“There have been rumours but I haven’t heard anything,” Jorginho told Chelsea’s website.

“I am just focusing on finishing the season well with Chelsea and qualifying for the Champions League.

“I just have to stay focused on when the teams need me.”
