Chelsea and Arsenal set to miss out on Pulisic

Liverpool are set to win the race to sign Borussia Dortmund midfielder Christian Pulisic, according to The Sun.

Arsenal and Chelsea have been linked with the United States international, who is reportedly keen to move to the Premier League.

There were previously reports that Chelsea were closing in on a deal to sign Pulisic in January.

But Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp, who managed the 20-year-old at Dortmund, is seemingly close to being reunited with him at Anfield.

The Sun say Arsenal have had a £35m bid for Pulisic rejected by the German club and that Liverpool have offered closer to £45m.

Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc has denied previous reports of a deal being close for Pulisic and has insisted that the player, whose contract is due to expire in 2020, will not be sold during the January transfer window.

“We have known these rumours for many years,” Zorc told German publication Kicker last month.

“We plan at least until the end of the season with him.”

Pulisic has been touted as a possible replacement for Aaron Ramsey at Arsenal and for Eden Hazard at Chelsea, with reports continuing to link the latter with a move to Real Madrid.
