Jorginho, Azpilicueta & Rudiger out – likely Chelsea line-up at Burnley

Chelsea’s vast array of attacking options means Frank Lampard will have some major decisions to make about the look of his line-up for Saturday’s trip to face Burnley.

There are tough calls to be made all over the pitch but the forward areas are without doubt the toughest with several players returning to fitness and almost everyone in decent form.

Hakim Ziyech scored and impressed on his his full debut as Chelsea thumped FK Krasnodar 4-0 in the Champions League in midweek, while fellow winger Callum Hudson-Odoi also starred and scored.

But Christian Pulisic looks certain to make the 11, having come off the bench to make two goals and score the fourth.

As good as American winger Pulisic was, the late mauling of the Russian side was also sparked by the introduction of midfield duo Mason Mount and N’Golo Kante – and both seem certain to start.

In defence Thiago Silva will return after being rested, while there is stiff competition at right-back. Cesar Azpilicueta was excellent against Krasnodar but Reece James has been in sensational form so that is one of the hardest calls Lampard will have to make. James will probably get the nod.

Flexibility in the formation also brings many an option but a variation a 4:2:3:1 looks the most likely with Havertz playing centrally and being flanked by Ziyech and Pulisic, who scored a hat-trick against the Clarets in the corresponding fixture last season.

Predicted line-up: Mendy; James, Silva, Zouma, Chilwell; Kante, Mount; Havertz, Ziyech, Pulisic; Werner.
