Rennes are willing to sell their prodigious talent Eduardo Camavinga for €30 million (just under £27 million), according to journalist Fabrizio Romano.
The revelation will have put Europe’s top clubs on red alert. Manchester United are thought to be leading the race for his signature, but Chelsea, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid and Paris St-Germain are also believed to hold a major interest in securing the 18-year-old midfielder’s services.
Camavinga, who at just 17 years, nine months and 29 days old, became the youngest player to play for the senior French side in 107 years, can play in central midfield as well as a defensive midfielder – two positions that the Blues are keen on fortifying before the start of the campaign.
Camavinga played against the Blues in the group stage of the Champions League this past season, but endured an indifferent campaign. With less than a year remaining on his contract, Camavinga is keen to make the move to a top club, forcing Rennes to sell him for a vastly reduced price.
Manchester United are progressing in direct contacts to sign Eduardo Camavinga.
#MUFC Rennes would be open to negotiate on potential €30m fee – as they’d lose Camavinga for free next summer.
He’s one of Man Utd long term targets – PSG have always been interested too.

It remains to be seen whether Chelsea make an official move for the player, but he has certainly been on their radar for some time.
Meanwhile, Chelsea have reportedly begun negotiations over a new contract for Andreas Christensen.
