Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri expects to further trim his squad before the close of the European transfer market and the English Football loan market.
Premier League clubs can no longer sign players, but several fringe players are expected to leave, notably Tiemoue Bakayoko who has been heavily linked with a move to AC Milan.
Striker Michy Batshuayi and defender Kurt Zouma left on loan on Friday for Valencia and Everton respectively.
Clubs in Spain, Germany, France and Turkey have until August 31st to complete their transfer deals, while EFL clubs can make loan signings until the same date.
A number of Chelsea’s youngsters are being chased by EFL and foreign clubs and are likely to be loaned out so they can play first-team football.
Speaking at a press conference on Friday, Sarri confirmed that outgoings are likely before the end of the month.
He said: “I think The squad is too large. Some players have to go on loan but I don’t know know who at the moment.
“I prefer to have 23 or 24 players and three of four young players and no more.”
